Repair Procedure

CAUTION

Work must be started more than 90 seconds AFTER the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal cable is
disconnected from the battery. The SRS is equipped with a back-up power source. If work is started within 90 seconds from disconnecting the
negative (-) terminal cable of the battery, the SRS may deploy.

1. Disconnect cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. For vehicles equipped with a driver side knee airbag follow the Repair Manual instructions for the correct removal procedure.

NOTE

For vehicles without a driver side knee airbag, proceed to step 3.

NOTE

After removing the driver side knee airbag, proceed to step 9.

3. Remove the LH front door scuff plate by disengage the 7 claws and 4 clips.
