2AZ-FXE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: KNOCK SENSOR: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Tank/Service and

Repair/Removal

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Removal

4. DRAIN COOLANT (for Engine) See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Coolant/Testing and Inspection/Coolant (for Engine)
5. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH See: Wiper and Washer Systems/Wiper Motor/Service and

Repair/Removal

10. SEPARATE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR SUB-ASSEMBLY
11. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK See: Wiper and Washer Systems/Wiper Motor/Service and Repair/Removal
12. REMOVE COWL TOP PANEL OUTER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 4 bolts, 4 nuts and cowl top panel outer sub-assembly.

13. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and

Repair/Removal

14. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Removal

15. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and Repair/Removal
16. DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Injector/Service and Repair/Removal
17. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE WITH INJECTOR See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Injector/Service and

Repair/Removal

18. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

(a) Disconnect the union to check valve hose from the brake booster.

(b) Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve connector.
(c) Remove the wire harness clamp.
(d) Remove the union to check valve hose from the vacuum hose clamp.
(e) Remove the 5 bolts, 2 nuts and intake manifold.
