Throttle Body: Service and Repair
THROTTLE BODY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
REMOVAL
1. Drain engine coolant.
2. Remove air cleaner cap.
3. Disconnect control cables from throttle body.
Disconnect these cables:

Accelerator cable
-
A/T:
Throttle cable
4. Remove throttle body.
(a) Disconnect these connectors:
-
Throttle position sensor connector
-
IAC valve connector
(b) Disconnect the 2 (A/T) or 3 (M/T) vacuum hoses from the throttle body.
(c) Remove the 3 bolts.
(d) Disconnect the throttle body from the intake manifold.
(e) Remove the gasket.
(f) Disconnect these hoses from the throttle body, and remove the throttle body:
(1) Water bypass hose (from water bypass pipe)
(2) Water bypass hose (from water outlet)
(3) California:
Air hose (from intake manifold) for air assist system
INSTALLATION
1. Install throttle body.
(a) Connect these hoses to the throttle body:
