It may not be necessary to use all the replacement plastic retaining clips supplied in the parts kit.
NECESSARY TOOLS AND MATERIALS

Two flat blade screwdrivers (approximately 8 inches and 12 inches long)
^
Long needle nose pliers
^
Medium needle nose pliers that have the nose bent at a 45 - 90~ angle. (These pliers are commercially available from most tool
manufacturers.)
^
10 mm 1/4 inch drive socket
^
1/4 inch drive universal or a 1/4 inch drive 10 mm universal socket (optional)
^
Socket driver, 1/4 inch (power driver optional)
^
Ratchet, 1/4 inch drive
^
Wooden block approximately (2"X4"X8") for covering the latch on the floor.
^
Clean shop rags
^
Wax, grease and silicone remover (use one listed below or equivalent)

Acryli-Clean (DX 330)

Acrysol (AB-S 20005)

General purpose adhesive cleaner (08984)

Metalprep 79 by Amchem (or equivalent)

Toyota touch-up paint - available from Toyota Parts Department.

Masking tape (1/4 or 1/2 inch wide)
Modification Procedure
1.
REMOVE REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY
2.
REMOVE INSIDE UPPER DOOR TRIM PANEL (PLASTIC TRIM NEXT TO REAR WINDOW)

Grab the trim panel with both hands and pull it away from the door panel. NOTE: If the retaining clips become detached from the plastic trim
and stick to the holes in the back door, pull the clips out of the holes in the backdoor and re-attach the clips to the trim panel before
reinstalling the trim panel
3.
REMOVE THE INSIDE LOWER TRIM PANEL

Remove the two rectangular access covers in the panel.

Remove the six plastic screw type retainers and pull the lower panel away from the door panel. A tape wrapped flat blade screwdriver used as
a pry bar will aid in the removal of the lower trim panel
4.
REMOVE THE TWO COMBINATION LAMPS
