Cruise Control Servo: Testing and Inspection

CONTROL CABLE FREEPLAY

Control Cable Freeplay Check

1.

Measure cable stroke to where throttle valve begins opening.

2.

Measurement should be approximately 0.39 in (10 mm) with a slight amount of freeplay.

3.

If not as specified, adjust freeplay.

RESISTANCE TEST

Resistance Check

1.

Check resistance between terminals 2 and 3.  It should be approximately 30 ohms.

2.

Check resistance between terminals 1 and 3.  It should be approximately 68 ohms.

3.

If not as specified, replace actuator.

OPERATION TEST

Operation Check

1.

Connect battery positive to terminals 1 and 2.  Connect negative to terminal 3.
