To improve the front windshield defroster performance in very low ambient temperatures, an air deflector plate has been added to the inlet opening of
the defroster nozzle.

Note:

* New part is interchangeable with previous parts; however, the plate should be used for field fix purposes to avoid dash pad removal.

All 1987 model Camry windshield defrosters, prior to February 1987 production change can be modified by adding a plate (P/N 55957-32010) to the
inlet opening of the defroster nozzle.

Modification Procedures:

1.

Remove lower finish panel

(a)

Remove the two screws and the engine hood release lever.

(b)

Using a screwdriver, pry out the switch bases and the no. 1 speaker panel.
