Steering Gear: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation

1.

Remove two set bolts securing sliding collar between steering shaft and gear pinion, then remove collar.

2.

Remove cotter pins and nuts from tie rod ends, then using suitable puller, remove tie rod ends from steering knuckle.

3.

If equipped with power steering, remove pressure and return lines from control valve housing and allow fluid to drain into a suitable container.

4.

Remove gear housing bracket bolts, then remove steering gear.
