Fuel Injector: Component Tests and General Diagnostics

Injection Inspection

INJECTOR INJECTION INSPECTION 

NOTE:  This procedure will require the use of several TOYOTA Special Service Tools or their equivalent.

1. Disconnect the fuel hose from the fuel filter outlet.

2. Connect union and hose to the fuel filter outlet with two new gaskets and union bolts.

Torque:  29 N.m (22 ft.lb) 

3. Install a new 0-ring to the fuel inlet of pressure regulator.
4. Connect hose to the fuel inlet of the pressure regulator with union and the two bolts. 

Torque:  5.4 N.m (48 in.lb) 

5. Connect the fuel return hose to the fuel outlet of the pressure regulator with union, two new gaskets and union bolts.

Torque:  18 N.m (13 ft.lb) 

6. Install the grommet and a new 0-ring to the injector. Connect union and hose to the injector, and hold the injector and union with clamp.
7. Put the injector into the graduated cylinder.

CAUTION: Install a suitable vinyl hose onto the injector to prevent gasoline from splashing out.
