4. REMOVE SUCTION PORT UNION

(a) Remove the bolt.
(b) Remove the 0-ring from the union.

5. 5S-FE Engine:

REMOVE AIR CONTROL VALVE
Remove the union bolt and gasket.

6. REMOVE PRESSURE PORT UNION, FLOW CONTROL VALVE AND SPRING

Remove the 0-ring from the union.

7. REMOVE REAR HOUSING

(a) Remove the 4 bolts.
(b) Remove the 2 0-rings from the housing.

8. REMOVE WAVE WASHER

9. REMOVE SIDE REAR PLATE

10. REMOVE GASKET

11. REMOVE CAM RING. 10 VANE PLATES AND VANE PUMP ROTOR

Using a screwdriver. remove the snap ring from the vane pump shaft.

NOTICE:  Take care not to drop the plate.

12. REMOVE VANE PUMP SHAFT

13. REMOVE STRAIGHT PINS

Remove the 2 pins from the front housing.

POWER STEERING VANE PUMP INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT

NOTICE:  When using a vise, do not overtighten it.

1. MEASURE OIL CLEARANCE BETWEEN VANE PUMP SHAFT AND BUSHING
