Coolant: Service and Repair

1.

With engine off and radiator cool, remove radiator cap.

2.

Loosen radiator and engine drain cocks and drain coolant into suitable container.

3.

Close the drain cocks.

4.

Slowly fill the system with engine coolant.

NOTES: Use a good brand of ethylene glycol base engine coolant and mix it according to the manufacturer's directions. Use a coolant/water

ratio of approximately 50/50, but not more than 70/30 coolant/water ratio. Do not use an alcohol type engine coolant. The engine
coolant should be mixed with demineralized or distilled water.  

5.

Install the radiator cap.

6.

Start the engine and let the air bleed out of the system through the coolant reservoir.

7.

If necessary, refill engine coolant into the reservoir until it is at the "Full" line.

8.

Check engine cooling system for leaks.
