Axle Shaft: Service and Repair
Center Driveshaft

    The following procedure applies only to the right side driveshaft on Camry models.

1.

Using suitable tools, press out dust covers.

2.

Remove snap ring.

3.

Using tool 09950-00020 or equivalent, remove bearing.

4.

Remove the snap ring.

5.

Install snap ring over shaft, then, using tool 09527-20011 or equivalent, press on a new bearing.

6.

Install new snap ring.

7.

Using suitable press, press in a new dust cover on driveshaft side to a clearance of .04-.08 inch, ensuring that there is clearance between dust cover
and bearing.

8.

Using suitable press, press in a new dust cover on transaxle side to a distance of 3.39-3.43 inches from end of shaft.
