Driveshaft, Replace

REMOVAL

1.

Remove cotter pin, locknut cap and locknut.

2.

Remove engine under covers.

3.

Disconnect tie rod and steering knuckle from lower arm.

4.

Loosen attaching bolts securing driveshaft to the differential side gear or center driveshaft assembly, Fig. 9.

5.

Remove driveshaft as follows: 

a. Remove left hand driveshaft by loosening attaching bolts and pulling out driveshaft. When removing the left hand driveshaft, do not compress

the inboard boot.

b. Remove joint end cover gasket from driveshaft.
