Evaporator Case: Service and Repair
Disassembly and Reassembly
COOLING UNIT DISASSEMBLY
Cooling Unit
1. REMOVE THESE PARTS:
a. A/C amplifier
b. Drain hose
c. Blower resistor
2. SEPARATE UPPER AND LOWER UNIT CASES
a. Using a knife, cut off the each packing.
b. Remove the 4 screws, 4 clips and separate the upper and lower unit cases.
3. REMOVE EVAPORATOR FROM LOWER UNIT CASE
ASSEMBLY HINT: If evaporator was replaced. add compressor oil to the compressor.
Add 40 cc (1.4 ft.oz.)
Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent
4. REMOVE THERMISTOR FROM EVAPORATOR
5. REMOVE EXPANSION VALVE
Using a hexagon wrench. remove the 2 bolts and separate the evaporator and expansion valve.
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)
ASSEMBLY HINT: Lubricate 4 new O-rings with compressor oil and install the tubes.
ASSEMBLY
Assembly is in the reverse order of disassembly.
