Celica GT Convertible L4-2164cc 2.2L DOHC MFI (1997)
a. Using two screwdrivers, remove the snap ring.
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the front and rear housing.
b. Wind vinyl tape on the pump shaft.
c. Using a plastic hammer, tap out the housing and washer.
d. Remove the O-ring from the housing.
8. Remove the side rear plate after doing the following.
a. Using a plastic hammer, tap out the plate.
b. Remove the O-ring from the plate.
9. Remove the cam ring and the 10 vane plates, taking care not to drop the vane plate.
10. Remove the vane pump shaft with the vane pump rotor and side front plate.
11. Remove the longer straight pin from the front housing.
12. Remove the vane pump rotor and side front plate after doing the following.
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the snap ring from the vane pump shaft.
b. Remove the two O-rings from the plate.
13. Remove the shorter straight pin from the side front plate.
Assembly
NOTE: When using a vise, do not overtighten it.
