Title: CARPET CLEANING PROCEDURES
Electrical components, wire harnesses1 and connectors in the cabin and trunk areas are not waterproof and therefore, are not protected against excessive
moisture that may occur during carpet cleaning. Additionally, some vehicles may have audio amplifiers, vehicle security system computers and CD
changers under the front seat area which may be damaged by excess moisture. The illustration is an example of the typical component locations.
When cleaning the carpet in the vehicle, use dedicated carpet cleaning equipment such as the carpet and upholstery cleaners found in the Toyota
Approved Dealer Equipment publication.
NOTE:
Even with dedicated carpet cleaning equipment, you must be careful not to soak electrical components located under the seat.
