Oil Pump: Service and Repair
Oil Pump Replace
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable, then make reference marks in hood hinge area and remove hood.
2.
Raise and support vehicle, then remove engine under cover and drain engine oil into suitable container.
3.
On models equipped with auto. trans., remove oil cooler hose clamp.
4.
On all models, remove front suspension crossmember.
5.
Remove front exhaust pipe bracket and brackets.
6.
On turbo models, disconnect oil cooler return hose from oil pan.
7.
On all models, remove brake hose brackets and clips from front suspension.
8.
Disconnect steering intermediate shaft, then stabilizer links from lower control arms.
9.
Attach suitable engine lifting equipment, then remove engine mounting nuts and washers.
10.
Remove Toyota Electronically Modulated Suspension (TEMS) actuator.
11.
Remove front shock absorbers from body, then while supporting front suspension crossmember with suitable jack, remove crossmember attaching
bolts. Lower and support front suspension crossmember.
12.
Remove oil pan attaching nuts and bolts, then the oil pan.
13.
Loosen oil pump outlet-to-engine block union nut, then remove oil pump attaching bolts and the oil pump.
14.
Reverse procedure to install.
