The following procedures are to assist you in the proper installation of the side gear shaft on FF vehicles..
SIDE GEAR SHAFT
INSTALLATION PROCEDURES:

Make sure that the snap ring is positioned securely in the groove of the side gear shaft.

Use SST to drive in the side gear shaft until it makes contact with the pinion shaft.
NOTE:
You will know whether or not the side gear shaft is making contact with the pinion shaft by the sound or feeling when driving it in.
IMPORTANT!

After installation, check that there is no more than 2-3 mm of play in axial direction and that the side gear shaft will not come out by trying to pull
it completely out by hand.
