Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair
Installation

2ZR-FE ENGINE MECHANICAL: FRONT CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL TIMING CHAIN COVER OIL SEAL

(a) Apply MP grease to the lip of a new oil seal.

NOTE:  Keep the lip free of foreign matter.

(b) Using SST and a hammer, tap in the oil seal until its surface is flush with the rear oil seal retainer edge.

SST: 09223-22010

NOTE:  Wipe off extra grease from the crankshaft.

2. INSTALL CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

(a) Align the pulley set key with the key groove of the pulley.

(b) Using SST, hold the pulley in place and tighten the bolt.

SST: 09213-58013
SST: 09330-00021
Torque: 190 Nm (1940 kgf-cm, 140 ft-lbf)

NOTE:  Check the SST installation positions when installing them to prevent the SST fixing bolts from coming into contact with the timing
chain cover sub-assembly.

3. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Installation
4. ADJUST V-RIBBED BELT See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Installation
5. INSPECT V-RIBBED BELT See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Testing and Inspection
6. ADD ENGINE OIL See: Engine Lubrication/Engine Oil/Service and Repair/Replacement
7. INSPECT FOR ENGINE OIL LEAK
8. INSTALL NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Installation
9. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

10. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL RH
