Spoiler: Service and Repair
REAR SPOILER
REPLACEMENT
HINT: The installation procedures are the removal procedures in reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information
are included.
1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR COVER
2. REMOVE REAR SPOILER
a. Remove the 2 screws.
b. Disconnect the wire harness connector.
c. Apply protective tape to the vehicle body.
d. Using a heat light, heat the spoiler to 40 to 60 degrees C (104 to 140 degrees F).
NOTE: Do not heat the spoiler excessively.
e. Prepare a piano wire. Tie objects that can serve as handles (For ex, wooden blocks) to the ends of the piano wire.
f.
Scrape the spoiler protector off by pulling the piano wire as shown in the illustration.
NOTE:

If planning to reuse the rear spoiler, take care not to damage the rear spoiler.

Do not damage the vehicle body and wire harness.
g. Remove the 2 clips, wire harness grommet and rear spoiler.
3. REMOVE CENTER STOP LAMP ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 bolts and the center stop lamp.
4. INSTALL REAR SPOILER
a. Using a heat light, heat the body mounting surface to 40 to 60 degrees C (104 to 140 degrees F).
NOTE: Do not heat the vehicle body excessively.
b. Remove the protective tape from the vehicle body.
c. Wipe off the stains with cleaner.
d. Clean the rear spoiler (if planning to reuse the rear spoiler).
1. Using a heat light, heat the rear spoiler to 40 to 60 degrees C (104 to 140 degrees F).
