How to Proceed With Troubleshooting
NETWORKING: CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM: HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING
NOTICE:
*
DTCs for the CAN communication system are as follows: U0073, U0100*1, U0123*1, U0124*1, U0126*1, U0129, U0327*2,
U1002*2 and B1499.
*
*1: w/ VSC
*
*2: w/ Smart key system
*
Refer to troubleshooting of each system if DTCs regarding the CAN communication system are not output.
1. CHECK AND CLEAR DTCS
HINT
*
CAN communication DTCs are output when there is an open or short in any of the communication wires. Any problems with the
power source of a corresponding ECU or sensor, or problem in the ECU or the sensor itself also cause these DTCs to be output.
*
If a CAN communication wire connector is disconnected with the ignition switch ON, the ECUs of the corresponding system and
related systems record a DTC.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK CAN NO. 1 BUS WIRE
(a) Check the CAN bus wire See: Component Tests and General Diagnostics/Check CAN Bus Line.
HINT
If the area where an open or short is occurring in a CAN bus wire can be determined, refer to Problem Symptoms Table See:
Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures/CAN Communication System/Problem Symptoms Table
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
