Piston Ring: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Using a piston ring expander, remove the 2 compression rings.
2. Remove the 2 side rails and oil ring by hand.
NOTE: Arrange the piston rings in correct order only.
INSTALLATION
1. Install the oil ring expander and 2 side rails by hand.
2. Using a piston ring expander, install the 2 compression rings with the code mark facing upward (No.2 compression ring only). Code mark (No.2
compression ring only): 2R or T
3. Position the piston rings so that the ring ends are as shown.
CAUTION: Do not align the ring ends.
