Clean the front disc brake cylinder mountings at the pad support plate seats thoroughly to remove debris, rust, or corrosion. (See Figure 1.)

Clean the pad support plates.*1
5.
Apply disc brake grease to the front disc brake cylinder mountings at the pad support plate seats, as shown in Figure 1.
6.
Reassemble the pad support plates to the front disc brake cylinder mountings.
7.
Apply disc brake grease to the ears of the new replacement brake pads. (See Figure 2.)
*1 The pad support plates can be re-used provided that they have sufficient rebound, no deformation, cracks or wear, and have had all rust, dirt and
debris cleaned off.
8.
Install the brake pads into the disc brake cylinder mountings.
9.
Apply disc brake grease to the outside of the brake pad ears and support plates, as shown in Figure 3.
