Evaporator Case: Service and Repair
Disassembly and Reassembly
DISASSEMBLY
1. REMOVE BLOWER RESISTOR
Remove the 2 screws and blower resistor.
2. SEPARATE COOLING UNIT CASES
a. Disconnect the thermistor connector.
b. Using a knife, cut off each packing.
c. Remove the 4 screws and 3 clips, then separate the cooling unit cases.
3. REMOVE EVAPORATOR FROM COOLING UNIT CASE
HINT: At the time of reassembly, please refer to the following item. If evaporator was replaced, add compressor oil to the evaporator.
Add 40 cc (1.4 fl.oz.)
Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent
4. REMOVE THERMISTOR
Pull out the thermistor from the evaporator.
5. REMOVE EXPANSION VALVE
Using a hexagon wrench, remove the 2 bolts and separate the expansion valve, evaporator, liquid and suction tube.
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm 48 in.lbf)
HINT: At the time of reassembly, please refer to the following item.
Lubricate 4 new O-rings with compressor oil and install the expansion valve.
REASSEMBLY
Reassembly is in the reverse order of Disassembly.
