Brake Rotor/Disc: Service and Repair

Pads, Replace

1.

Raise and support rear of vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assembly.

2.

Temporarily install rotor disc with wheel attaching nuts.

3.

Remove clip, cotter pin and hole pin, then pull out cable from parking brake cable bracket.

4.

Remove bottom caliper attaching bolt, then lift caliper assembly, Fig. 19. Do not remove caliper from main pin.

5.

Remove brake pads, anti-squeal shims, anti-rattle springs, pad support plate and pad guide plate.

6.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following: 

a. Using a suitable tool, slowly turn and push piston clockwise until it locks in the bore.
