Service Bolt Hole On Intake Camshaft Gear

9. Alternately loosen the No.1 intake and exhaust bearing cap bolts a little at a time and remove the two camshaft bearing caps.

Intake Camshaft Sub Gear And Main Gear

10. Secure the intake camshaft sub-gear to the main gear with a service bolt. The service bolt should have a 6mm thread diameter, 1.0 mm thread pitch

and be 16 - 20 mm in length. The torsional spring force of the sub gear must be eliminated using the above procedure before removing the
camshaft.

11. Evenly loosen each bearing cap bolt a little at a time in the sequence shown above.
12. Remove the intake camshaft bearing caps and camshaft.

Caution: Do not attempt to pry on or force the camshaft with a tool or other object.

13. If the camshaft cannot be lifted out straight and level, retighten the No.3 bearing cap and loosen the bolts of the bearing cap alternately a little at a

time with the gear pulled up.
