Oil Pan: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation
1.
Drain engine oil, then remove engine undercover.
2.
On models equipped with 4A-GE engines, remove center mounting and stiffener plate.
3.
On all models, remove flywheel housing undercover.
4.
Remove the front exhaust pipe.
5.
Remove oil pan attaching bolts, then the pan.
6.
Remove oil strainer, then the oil pan baffle plate.
7.
Remove timing belt, idler pulley and crankshaft pulley as describe under TIMING BELT.
8.
Remove oil dipstick guide, then the dipstick.
9.
Remove oil pump attaching bolts, then the oil pump.
10.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque oil pump attaching bolts to specification.
b. Torque oil strainer attaching bolts to specification.
c. Torque oil pan attaching bolts to specification.
