Oil Pump: Service and Repair
Oil Pump Replace
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable, then drain engine oil.
2.
Remove fan shroud, if necessary, then raise and support vehicle.
3.
Remove engine under cover, then the right stiffener plate.
4.
Remove oil pan attaching bolts, then the oil pan using suitable tool. Use caution not to damage oil pan flange.
5.
Remove oil strainer attaching bolts, then the oil strainer.
6.
Remove timing belt and crankshaft sprocket. Refer to ``Timing Belt, Replace'' for procedure.
7.
On 4A-GE and 4A-GEC engines, remove oil baffle plate from cylinder block.
8.
Remove oil level dipstick and tube.
9.
Remove oil pump attaching bolts, then the oil pump assembly.
10.
Reverse procedure to install.
