Fuel Gauge: Testing and Inspection

1. Disconnect connector from sender gauge.
2. Turn ignition switch to On position, then check receiver gauge needle indicates Empty.
3. Connect terminals 1 and 3 on wire harness side connector through a 3.4W test bulb, Fig. 39.

4. Turn ignition switch On, then ensure bulb lights and receiver gauge needle moves toward full side.
5. If gauge does not operate as specified, check receiver gauge resistance.
6. Measure resistance between terminals A, B and C, Fig. 40.
