Measure clearance between parking brake shoe and lever, Fig. 24. If clearance is greater than .0138 inch, replace shim to obtain correct clearance.

Apply suitable grease to the backing plate, adjusting screw and sliding surfaces of the shoe.

12.

Install parking brake lever to the cable.

13.

Install rear shoe, tension spring, front shoe and shoe adjusting screw.

14.

Install front shoe and return spring using a suitable tool.

15.

Install strut and spring, then the rear shoe return spring using a suitable tool.

16.

Install rotor disc, aligning groove on rear axle shaft flange and service hole on the disc, then temporarily install hub nuts.

17.

Turn adjuster and expand shoes until rotor disc locks, then return adjuster eight notches.

18.

Install caliper assembly and rear wheel.
