Connect electrical connector to each solenoid.

Install oil tubes in original position.
6.
On A340E models, install oil strainer with new gasket, then torque attaching bolts to 7 ft. lbs.

On A340H models, install oil strainer case, then torque attaching bolts to 7 ft. lbs. Install oil strainer with new gasket, then torque strainer
attaching bolts to 61 inch lbs.
8.
Thoroughly clean surface of oil pan and case contacting surfaces, using a suitable solvent, then apply a suitable sealant to surfaces and install pan
within 10 minutes.
9.
Insert pan attaching bolts, then torque bolts to 65 inch lbs.
10.
Install drain plug, then torque to 15 ft. lbs.
11.
Add transmission fluid to specifications, then road test vehicle.
Transfer Valve Body, Replace
Removal
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable, then clean exterior of transfer case.
2.
Raise and support vehicle, then drain transfer case fluid.
3.
Support transmission, using suitable jackstands, then remove attaching bolts and disconnect rear support member from body.
4.
Remove four attaching bolts, then the rear support member.
5.
Remove four attaching bolts, then the member bracket from transfer case.
6.
Remove transfer case oil pan attaching bolts, then the oil pan.
7.
Disconnect No. 4 solenoid electrical connector, then the solenoid attaching bolt and solenoid.
8.
Remove six valve body attaching bolts, then the valve body.

Installation
1.
Align manual valve lever with manual valve, then install attaching bolts as shown, Fig. 6, and torque to 7 ft. lbs. Attaching bolt lengths (mm) are
indicated in figure.
2.
Install No. 4 solenoid, then insert attaching bolt and torque to 7 ft. lbs.
3.
Connect solenoid electrical connector.
4.
Clean contacting surfaces of oil pan and case, then apply a suitable sealant to surfaces. install oil pan within 10 minutes of application of sealant,
then insert attaching bolts and torque to 65 inch lbs.
5.
Install drain plug, then torque to 15 ft. lbs.
6.
Fill transfer case to specifications, then ensure proper fluid level.
7.
Assemble member bracket to case.
8.
Install engine rear support member, then insert attaching bolts and torque to 31 ft. lbs.
9.
Install rear support member onto body, then insert attaching bolts and torque to 58 ft. lbs.
10.
Remove transmission jack, then lower vehicle.
11.
Road test vehicle.
