CAUTION: Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from working.
2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Headliner/Service and Repair/Removal
3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Headliner/Service and Repair/Removal
4. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR FOOTREST See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Foot Rest/Service and Repair/Removal
5. REMOVE FOOTREST CLIP See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Foot Rest/Service and Repair/Removal
6. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Headliner/Service and Repair/Removal
7. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Headliner/Service and Repair/Removal
8. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH
(a) Remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip to the extent that the front pillar garnish and the instrument panel lower finish panel can be
removed.
9. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH
HINT: Use the same procedure as for the RH side.
10. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP PLUG
HINT: Use the same procedure to remove all the assist grip plugs.
