Neutral Safety Switch: Service and Repair
Installation
A750E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: PARK / NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH: INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the park/neutral position switch onto the manual valve shaft.
(b) Temporarily install the bolt.
(c) Install a new lock washer and the nut.
Torque: 6.9 Nm (70 kgf-cm, 61 in-lbf)
(d) Push the control shaft rearward as much as possible.
(e) Return the control shaft lever 2 notches to the N position.
(f) Align the neutral basic line with the switch groove, and tighten the bolt.
Torque: 13 Nm (129 kgf-cm, 9.4 ft-lbf)
(g) Using a screwdriver, bend the tabs of the lock washer.
2. CONNECT PARK / NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH CONNECTOR
3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Torque: 3.9 Nm (40 kgf-cm, 35 in-lbf)
4. PERFORM INITIALIZATION See: Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning
5. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Shifter A/T/Adjustments
6. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Shifter A/T/Adjustments
7. INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY See: Testing and Inspection/On-Vehicle Inspection
