Variable Valve Timing Actuator: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER
4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY
5. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY BRACKET
6. REMOVE OIL BAFFLE PLATE
7. REMOVE NO. 1 SURGE TANK STAY
8. REMOVE NO. 2 SURGE TANK STAY
9. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK
10. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
b. Remove the 2 bolts, then remove the 2 camshaft timing oil control valves.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY
a. Install the 2 camshaft timing oil control valves with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 9.0 N.m (92 kgf.cm, 80 in.lbf)
b. Connect the 2 connectors.
2. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK
3. INSTALL NO. 2 SURGE TANK STAY
4. INSTALL NO. 1 SURGE TANK STAY
5. INSTALL OIL BAFFLE PLATE
6. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY BRACKET
7. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY
8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Torque: 3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf)
9. ADD ENGINE COOLANT
10. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE
11. INSTALL V-BANK COVER
