Oil Cooler: Service and Repair

REPLACEMENT 

1. DRAIN COOLANT
2. REMOVE OIL FILTER SUB-ASSY [15601 / 98-16]

SST 09228-06501

3. REMOVE OIL COOLER ASSY [15710 / 98-18]

a. Disconnect 2 water by-pass hoses.
b. Remove the nut.
c. Using socket wrench (30 mm), remove the union.
d. Remove the oil cooler and O-ring.

4. INSTALL OIL COOLER ASSY [15710 /98-18]

a. Install the new O-ring to oil cooler.
b. Apply engine oil to the O-ring.
c. Using socket wrench (30 mm), install the oil cooler with union.

Torque: 79 Nm (800 kgf-cm, 58 ft. lbs.) 

d. Install the nut.

Torque: 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 inch lbs.) 

5. INSPECT OIL LEAK
6. INSPECT COOLANT LEAKS
