Wheel Bearing: Service and Repair
Rear
REPLACEMENT
1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
2. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSY, LH
a. Remove the bolt and separate the flexible hose.
b. Remove the 2 bolts and brake caliper.
c. Support the brake caliper securely.
3. REMOVE REAR DISC [42431 / 98-63]
4. SEPARATE SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE [89516 / 98-170]
a. Disconnect the connector.
5. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB & BEARING ASSY LH [42450B / 98-63]
a. Remove the 4 bolts and axle hub.
6. REMOVE SKID CONTROL SENSOR [89544 / 98-170]
7. INSTALL SKID CONTROL SENSOR [89544 / 98-170]
8. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB & BEARING ASSY LH [42450B / 98-63]
a. Install the axle hub with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 80 Nm (816 kgf-cm, 59 ft. lbs.)
9. INSTALL SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE [89516 / 98-170]
a. Connect the connector.
