2GR-FE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: VVT SENSOR: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal

2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

Assembly/Removal

3. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Coolant/Service and Repair

4. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH 

5. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH 

6. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

7. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY 

8. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

9. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

Assembly/Removal

10. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Air Cleaner Housing/Service and Repair/Removal

11. DISCONNECT ENGINE ROOM MAIN WIRE See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Removal

12. REMOVE NO. 1 SURGE TANK STAY See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Removal

13. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY BRACKET See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Removal

14. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Removal

15. SEPARATE HARNESS PROTECTOR See: Computers and Control Systems/Variable Valve Timing Actuator/Service and Repair/Removal

16. REMOVE VVT SENSOR (for Bank 1)

(a) Intake side:

(1) Remove the bolt and VVT sensor.

(b) Exhaust side:
