Thermostat: Service and Repair
REPLACEMENT
1. DRAIN COOLANT
2. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSY [27020 / 98-35]
3. REMOVE WATER INLET [16321/98-20]
a. Remove 2 nuts, and disconnect the water inlet from the cylinder block.
4. REMOVE THERMOSTAT [16331A / 98-20]
5. INSTALL THERMOSTAT [16331A / 98-20]
a. Install a new gasket to the thermostat.
b. Install the thermostat with the jiggle valve upward.
HINT: The jiggle valve may be set within 100 on either side of the prescribed position.
6. INSTALL WATER INLET [16321 / 98-20]
a. Install the water inlet with 2 nuts.
7. ADD COOLANT
8. INSPECT COOLANT LEAKS
