Rear Differential Side Gear Shaft Seal Oil

REPLACEMENT 

HINT:

Replacement the RH side by the same procedures with LH side.

For the differential without torque sensing LSD, remove the differential carrier assy rear from the vehicle before operation.

1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
2. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
3. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL FILLER PLUG

a. Using a hexagon wrench (10 mm), remove the filler plug and gasket.

4. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL DRAIN PLUG

a. Using a hexagon wrench (10 mm), remove the drain plug and gasket, drain the oil.

5. SEPARATE REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSY LH

6. REMOVE DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT SUB-ASSY LH

a. Using SST and 2 nuts, remove the side gear shaft.

SST 09520-24010 (09520-04010, 09520-32040)

7. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT SHAFT SNAP RING

a. Using 2 screwdrivers and a hammer, remove the snap ring from the side gear shaft.

8. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT SHAFT SNAP RING

a. Install a new snap ring to the side gear shaft.

9. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT SEAL OIL

a. Using SST, remove the oil seal.
