About the Matrix
The Matrix, officially the Corolla Matrix, was a tall hatchback derived from the Corolla, introduced for 2003 and built in Cambridge, Ontario. It came from a joint venture with General Motors, whose version, the Pontiac Vibe, was built at NUMMI in California and was mechanically identical. It was redesigned for 2009 and sold until 2013 in the US.
What these manuals cover
- 2003–2008 (first generation): the 1.8-litre four (1ZZ-FE), the XRS's 2ZZ-GE and the 4WD model.
- 2009–2010 (second generation): the 2.4-litre (2AZ-FE) and 1.8-litre (2ZR-FE) fours, with front- or all-wheel drive.
Tip: the Pontiac Vibe is mechanically identical, so its manuals cover the same car.
