(a) Remove the armature plate from the starter drive housing assembly or the starter yoke assembly.

5. REMOVE PLANETARY GEAR

(a) Remove the 3 planetary gears from the starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly.

6. REMOVE STARTER CENTER BEARING CLUTCH SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly with starter pinion drive lever from the starter drive housing assembly.

(b) Remove the starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly, rubber seal, and starter pinion drive lever.

Reassembly

1. INSTALL STARTER CENTER BEARING CLUTCH SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Apply high-temperature grease to the parts of the starter pinion drive lever that contact the starter pivot part of the starter pinion drive lever.
