Liftgate Window Glass: Service and Repair
Removal

WINDOW / GLASS: BACK DOOR GLASS: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. TEST BACK DOOR CENTER GARNISH See: Body and Frame/Doors, Hood and Trunk/Trunk / Liftgate/Service and Repair/Disassembly
2. REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH LH See: Body and Frame/Doors, Hood and Trunk/Trunk / Liftgate/Service and Repair/Disassembly
3. REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH RH See: Body and Frame/Doors, Hood and Trunk/Trunk / Liftgate/Service and Repair/Disassembly
4. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM BOARD ASSEMBLY See: Body and Frame/Doors, Hood and Trunk/Trunk / Liftgate/Service and

9. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear Wiper) See: Wiper and Washer Systems/Wiper Motor/Service and Repair/Rear Wiper

10. REMOVE BACK DOOR GLASS

(a) Disconnect the 2 back door defogger connectors.

(b) Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches.

NOTE:  When separating the back door glass from the vehicle, be careful not to damage the vehicle's paint or interior/exterior ornaments.

(c) Pass a piano wire between the vehicle body and back door glass from the interior, as shown in the illustration.
(d) Tie both wire ends to wooden blocks or similar objects that can serve as handle.
(e) Cut off the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the back door glass.

NOTE:  Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the back door glass.

(f) Using suction cups, disengage the 2 clips and remove the back door glass.
