Repair Procedure

Replace console box and Instrument Panel Lower Center Panel.

Refer to steps 9-16 in the Technical Information System (TIS), 2004 model year Matrix

Repair Manual: Instrument Panel/meter; Instrument Panel Sub-Assy Lower.

1.

Remove Instrument Cluster Finish Panel Sub-assembly Center.

A.

Using a molding remover, disengage the 4 clips and 3 claws.

B.

Disconnect connector, then remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly center.

2.

Remove Radio Receiver Assembly w/Bracket (w/o Navigation System).

3.

Remove Navigation Receiver Assembly w/Bracket (w/Navigation System).

4.

Remove Floor Shift Lever Knob Sub-assembly (M/T Transaxle).
