Parking Brake Lever: Testing and Inspection
ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
1. CHECK PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL
Pull the parking brake lever all the way up, and count the number of clicks.
Parking brake lever travel at 196 N (20 kgf, 44.1 lbs.): 5 - 8 clicks
If incorrect, adjust the parking brake.
2. IF NECESSARY, ADJUST PARKING BRAKE
a. Pull the parking brake lever all the way up and down 2 or 3 times. Then return the parking brake lever.
b. Depress the brake pedal for several times.
c. Remove the console box.
d. Loosen the lock nut and turn the adjusting nut until the lever travel is correct.
e. Tighten the lock nut.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.)

Install the console box.
HINT: Before adjusting the parking brake, turn the rear tire with your hand and check that it turns smoothly without blocking. If you feel any
blocking, readjust the parking brake.
