1.

Raise and support vehicle then remove front wheels.

2.

Remove brake caliper, brake hose from strut, support caliper with wire, then remove rotor, Fig. 5.

3.

Place a dial indicator near center of axle hub and check backlash in bearing shaft direction, Fig. 6. If backlash is greater than .002 inch, replace
bearing.

4.

Install rotor and brake caliper, then remove driveshaft locknut while applying brakes.

Remove brake caliper and support with wire, then the rotor.

Loosen nuts on lower side of shock absorber. Do not remove bolts at this time.

7.

Disconnect tie rod end from steering knuckle using ball joint puller 09628-62011 or equivalent, then the lower ball joint from lower suspension
arm.

8.

Using universal puller tool No. 09950-20017 or equivalent, disconnect driveshaft from steering knuckle.

9.

Remove bolts on lower side of shock absorber, then the steering knuckle and hub.

10.

Remove lower ball joint using ball joint puller tool No. 09628-62011 or equivalent, then using a suitable screwdriver, the inner oil seal.

11.

Using a suitable T30 Torx wrench, remove dust cover set bolts.

12.

Using universal puller, remove axle hub from steering knuckle, then the dust cover.

13.

Remove inner race from axle hub using universal puller, then the outer oil seal from steering knuckle using oil seal puller tool No. 09308-00010 or
equivalent.

14.

Remove bearing snap ring from steering knuckle, place inner race on outside of bearing, then using a suitable brass drift and a hammer, drive
bearing from steering knuckle.

15.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following: See TSB DL001-98 3-6-98

a. Press new bearing into steering knuckle using steering knuckle oil seal replacer tool No. 09608-10010 or equivalent.
b. Install outer oil seal using steering knuckle oil seal replacer or equivalent.
c. Press axle hub into steering knuckle using steering knuckle oil seal replacer and universal puller or their equivalents.
d. Install outer oil seal using steering knuckle oil seal replacer or equivalent.
