EGR Temperature Sensor: Description and Operation
EGR Gas Temperature Sensor
This sensor, located on the RH side of the engine, measures the temperature of the exhaust gases present at the EGR valve and sends this information
to the ECU. The ECU compares this reading to its programmed nominal value to confirm proper EGR system operation. If the temperature is too high,
the ECU senses that exhaust gases are not being recirculated and NOx emissions will be abnormal. A fault code 71 will be entered into ECU memory
and the "CHECK ENGINE" light should illuminate. The EGR Gas Temperature Sensor inputs the ECU through terminal THG.
