Air Injection Control Valve: Testing and Inspection
Electric Air Control Valve (EACV)

Pickup & 4Runner, California

1.

Disconnect air suction hose from EACV.

2.

Disconnect and ground electrical connector from thermo switch No. 2 and ensure gurgling noise is not heard from EACV.

3.

Reconnect electrical connector to thermo switch No. 2, then disconnect and ground connector from thermo switch No. 1.

4.

Start engine and run above 1390 RPM and ensure gurgling noise is heard from EACV.

5.

Reconnect electrical connector to thermo switch No. 1.

6.

Replace EACV if operation is not as described.
