Fig.34 Checking Fuel Pump Operation

1.

Remove cold start injector from the engine and connect to Special Service Tool (SST) 09268-41045 hose. Fig. 30

2.

Connect SST (09842-30050 wiring) to the cold start injector.

NOTE:  Position the injector as far away from the power source as possible.

Place a suitable container under the injector.

4.

Turn the ignition switch to ON.

5.

Short the terminals of the fuel pump check connectorFig. 34

6.

Perform this test as quickly as possible. Check for a good spray pattern.

7.

Remove the test connections from the battery and check that fuel does not leak from the injector. Maximum leakage is less than one drop per
minute.
