Governor: Service and Repair

    On A43DE type transmissions, the governor is replaced with an electronic rotor sensor.

1.

Raise and support vehicle and remove driveshaft.

2.

Disconnect speedometer cable and remove cable drive gear assembly.

3.

Remove bolts securing rear mount to bracket, then raise transmission using a suitable jack.

4.

Remove rear mount from extension housing.

5.

Remove extension housing retaining bolts, housing and gasket, noting position of bolts for installation.

6.

Remove and replace governor from output shaft as outlined for passenger cars.

7.

Reverse procedure to complete installation.
