INSTALLATION 

1.

Lift up equipment drive housing, then insert driveshaft through hole at rear of housing.

2.

Align matchmarks of coupling and pulley, then lower drive housing.

3.

Install, then torque the three front bolts to 38 ft. lbs.

4.

Install the remaining bolts and torque to 25 ft. lbs.

5.

Remove the service bolt and nut installed on front end of driveshaft.

6.

Secure No. 1 driveshaft housing insulator, then install and torque nut to 24 ft. lbs.

7.

Install No. 4 and No. 5 driveshaft housing stays. Install the lower bolt first, then upper bolt and torque to 13 ft. lbs.

8.

Install No. 2 driveshaft housing insulator.

9.

Install No. 3 driveshaft housing stay, install inboard bolt, then outboard bolt. Torque bolts to 18 ft. lbs.

10.

Install No. 1 and No. 2 driveshaft housing stay to No. 3 driveshaft housing stay, then torque nuts in several passes to 13 ft. lbs., Fig. 28.

11.

Install, then torque washer and nut of body bracket for No. 2 driveshaft housing insulator, to 18 ft. lbs.

12.

Check installation angle of driveshaft as follows:

a.  Using appropriate measuring devices, measure installation angle of driveshaft in front of and behind front flexible coupling, Fig. 24.
b.  If difference in angle between each section is 2° or more, adjust installation angle by adjusting position of No. 1, No. 2 and/or  No. 3

equipment drive housing stays.

13.

Ensure alignment of insulators are correct and gaps are as specified, Figs. 29 and 30. Adjust if necessary.

14.

Install equipment drive pulley, torque bolts to 21 ft. lbs.

15.

Install belts, then fluid coupling, torque bolts to 10 ft. lbs.

16.

Install fan shroud, then A/C air intake duct.

17.

Rearm airbag system, refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts/Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems)/Service and Repair then check belt
tension.
