1.
Do not allow rear of driveshaft to hang disconnected. Suspend with suitable sling at horizontal position.
2.
Store driveshaft so front coupling is horizontal with shaft, Fig. 21.
3.
When installing driveshaft, ensure flexible coupling is not malformed, if so disconnect shaft and install again, Fig. 22.
4.
When removing driveshaft, do not remove No. 1 and No. 2 equipment drive housing stays unless necessary. If removal is necessary, mark position
of stays and reinstall as marked, Fig. 23.
5.
During installation of driveshaft, using appropriate measuring devices, measure installation angle of driveshaft in front of and behind front flexible
coupling, Fig. 24. If difference in angle between each section is 2° or more, adjust installation angle by adjusting position of No. 1, No. 2 and/or
No. 3 equipment drive housing stays.
6.
After service, ensure ground straps between equipment drive housing and body, and between alternator and battery ground terminal are connected.
